The Runxin F118A is a twin alternating water softener valve designed for high-efficiency softening, especially in applications with high water hardness.

It manages three tanks, ensuring two are always in service (either in parallel or series) while one regenerates, providing a continuous supply of soft water.

Operation Cycles

  • Service: Normal water filtration/softening mode.
  • Backwash: Reverses water flow to loosen the resin bed and wash away debris.
  • Brine & Slow Rinse: Draws salt solution from the brine tank to regenerate the resin, followed by a slow rinse.
  • Brine Refill: Automatically refills the brine tank with the correct amount of water for the next cycle.
  • Fast Rinse: Final rinse to settle the resin bed and remove any remaining salt.

Key Features

  • Triple-Tank Alternating Design: The system is designed for three tanks. It operates with either two tanks in service and one on standby (for continuous high flow) or one tank in service and one on standby (with one tank offline). This maximizes resin capacity by up to 50% compared to standard systems
  • Regeneration Flexibility: It supports both Down-Flow and Up-Flow regeneration modes. It also allows the operator to choose whether to regenerate using raw water or pre-softened water, which helps maintain resin capacity in extremely high hardness areas.
  • User & Control Interface: Features a clear LCD and a button lock function to prevent accidental setting changes (press and hold "Up" and "Down" for 5 seconds to unlock). It supports one-button start for regeneration.
  • Power Failure Memory: The system saves parameters during a power outage. If the outage exceeds 3 days, the time indicator will flash to alert you to reset the clock, but other programming remains intact.
  • Intelligent Metering: Offers standard meter-immediate regeneration as well as an "Intelligent" mode (A-03/A-13) where the system automatically calculates the periodic water production based on resin volume, feed water hardness, and regeneration factor.
